Mweene is an experienced operations and programme support professional and has gained her experience through working with various international NGOs focused on human rights around access to healthcare as well as safe water and sanitation in East and Southern Africa.

Current Work

As Operations Coordinator, Mweene is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the team through coordinating CSHR office operations. The impact of her role is to ensure efficient operations that underpin the work of the CSHR team to achieve its strategic objectives. Her role supports The Centre’s goal to build a Self-Sustaining Organisation through providing executive support for the Senior Leadership Team, overseeing, and maintaining office systems and digital platforms for the CSHR worldwide team, coordinating The Centre’s HR and Finance functions, and assisting with logistics for CSHR’s events.

 

Previous Experience

Mweene holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Development Studies and Public Administration from the University of Zambia and a Master of Arts Degree in Development Studies from the University of Lusaka. She first joined the Human Rights field through the British charity, Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) where she worked on a youth project aimed at increasing awareness on Adolescent Youth Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (AYSRH). Following her work at VSO, Mweene joined Living Water International (LWI) as Programme Officer where she supported the programme and operations for a programme aimed at improving human rights access to safe Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) for underserved communities. Prior to joining CSHR, she worked for Global Health Corps (GHC) as Zambia Programme and Operations Senior Coordinator where she supported the programme and operations management of the GHC fellowship in Zambia and managed the in-country alumni programme that aims to improve the Zambian health system through advocating for health as a human right.
