Centre launches consultation on sport and human rights language

The Centre is launching a consultation for converging the language used in the sport and human rights movement. The consultation will agree on a shared understanding, create a common reference point and promote appropriate, respectful and accurate terminology for use across the sport ecosystem.

Over the next 3 years, we will consult on various terms in different rounds, asking for input on how to define these terms and which terms are in need of a definition. After each round of consultation, we will publish the definitions as work in progress, leaving room for further input and amendments, due to the rapidly evolving nature of many of the terms and the sport and human rights movement as such.

As this is an international movement, we will consult on the appropriate translation into official UN languages for each agreed term. We welcome suggestions on terms our stakeholders would like us to consult upon and any other recommendations for the consultation process.
