Safer Sport Day 2020

Saturday August 8th is #SaferSportDay - join us in making sport safe from abuse for all children.
It is every child’s right to be safe during sport, and it is every organisation’s responsibility to protect them. One incident of abuse in sport is one too many.
Sport is essential to children’s development and well-being - but only if there are safeguards in place to protect them.
The aims of the day are to:
- Raise awareness of safeguarding and the Safeguards in both sport and sport for development organisations
- Support those organisations to access effective safeguarding advice, support and resources
- Encourage organisations to ‘take the pledge’ and commit to improving safeguarding in their organisation and across the sport sector
For many, the COVID-19 pandemic has side-lined activities. When it’s safe for sport, let’s make it safer for sport.
